I think I have reached my highest amount of pictures taken in one day, 280!
I woke up early to be sure to enjoy Budapest as much as I could. They don't have bureks here so I found a bakery where I bought some sort of bread thingy filled with I don't know what, I was still quite hungry after eating it. I walked past a grocery store so I decided to buy slices of ham. I was eating my slices of ham while walking so I wonder if some tourists thought "Hungarian people have weird habit, eating slices of ham while they're walking!" It would be funny :) Then I was still hungry and I saw a guy on the streets selling blueberries so I bought a box. After that I was good to go! Interesting breakfast today!
I will show you some pictures from my morning walk. Here is the Moulin Rouge in Budapest:
I thought there was only one in Paris but I guess I was wrong! This sculpture totally amazed me because from behind, it looks like a couple dancing:
But when you look from the other side, it's Death coming to rip that poor man's head off!
And this is the Budapest Opera:
It is possible to go inside but I'm going to be running out of days to do that...
There is a group that provides free guided walks of Budapest so I took a tour with them starting at 10:30. It lasted about 2 hours and a half and it was excellent! I also met a Canadian guy on the walk and we exchanged e-mail addresses. He took a picture of me in front of what was my favourite church of Budapest:
I say "was" because I found a better church today!
After the tour my stomach informed me that it was time to have lunch. I had a WONDERFUL veal stew (I don't think stew is the proper word here but it's getting late and I'm too lazy to look it up), accompanied by Hungarian noodles. Delicious!
At the restaurant there were two Danish girls who started talking to me because they saw the Canadian flag on my bag. They said I was far from home! We talked for some time, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to get their contact information so they will remain forever the two Danish girls that I met at a restaurant in Budapest...
Since the walk had finished on the Buda side, that's where I was this afternoon. So here are some pictures from my afternoon walking:
I accomplished one of my dreams today. I'm sure you're wondering what it is... Bungee jumping? Parachute? Test drive a Ferrari? None of the above! I tried archery!!!
Well you can't really see much from the picture but I paid 500 Hungarian florins to have the opportunity to throw 5 arrows in the general direction of the targets there. I got super close only once and I think that was pure luck. But that was so much fun because I wanted to try it for the longest time but never really got a chance. One thing to cross from my list of things to try! (Actually I have to write the list first, and then I can cross it!)
After my walk I was resting on a bench near a kiosk where they sell ticket for "hop on hop off" type of bus. I went to get some information and decided on the spot to buy a ticket for tomorrow and the day after. The guy said "You know what, I'll give you the ticket for tomorrow and the day after and you can actually start using it today". So cool, so I got the opportunity to drive to the citadelle on the Buda side:
It looks like I have a sexy hairstyle but it's actually the wind blowing my hair all over the place :)
And with the bus, I also went all the way to the amazing parliament:
I am sooooo sad because once I got to the parliament my phone ran out of batteries so I really only have this picture that I took from the back. But I'm definitely going to the parliament again to take more pictures of it tomorrow!
